ACADEMICS
Our First Pillar
Academic Excellence is our first pillar and the foundation of our mission; we believe education is the key to opening doors for the Latinx community. Our efforts focus on, but are not exclusive to, providing resources for our Latinx members, the broader Latinx campus community, and the local Latinx youth community.

Nationally all members within our sorority must maintain a 2.70 overall GPA; our chapter has exceeded this standard and won our sorority’s National Highest GPA award three times since our founding in 2003. Each academic year on campus, Chi Chapter hosts two academic and professional workshops and three Study Nights at El Centro for the Latinx campus community.

The current Chi Chapter members’ areas of study encompass a diverse range of academia including Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Product Design, Mathematics, Physics, Earth Systems, Data Science, Psychology, Human Biology, Public Policy, International Relations, and Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. Out of all 52 members of Chi Chapter, 44 have graduated, with the rest still currently enrolled. Additionally, Chi Chapter members have gone on to achieve 10+ Master’s Degrees, 3+ PhD’s, 6+ JD’s, and 1 DPT.
SERVICE
Our Second Pillar
Providing service to others is not just something we do, it is part of who we are. Lambda Theta Nu’s national philanthropy program, Tijeras, is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinx people and our surrounding communities. Each year Chi Chapter hosts a Latinx Literacy Week on campus to raise awareness and funds for accessible education. These funds contribute to Tijeras Literacy Grams: grants provided by our sisterhood to up-and-coming non-profit organizations that have programs dedicated to promoting literacy and access to education, especially within the Latino community.

Through Tijeras, Chi Chapter also supports the success of Latina youth. Each year Chi reaches a fundraising quota that helps provide scholarships to deserving Latina high school seniors for their first year of collegiate studies. Additionally, Chi Chapter hosts a Latina Youth Leadership Conference each spring for local middle school and high school girls to visit campus and participate in workshops; Chi sisters & siblings design and lead these workshops each year, focussing in areas such as college preparedness, STEM engagement, and mental health for intersectional identities.
SISTERHOOD
Our Third Pillar
As sisters and siblings of Lambda Theta Nu, we are united by our commitment to opening doors of opportunity to the Latinx community and uplifting the voices of others. We recognize that we are stronger together than individually and work with one another and other organizations to generate change within our communities. Through it all, Lambdas support and uplift one another and celebrate each others' differences. Our sorority offers a safe space for members to explore and embrace aspects of their identity such as ethnicity, race, gender, and family upbringing; we do this through campus retreats to places such as Yosemite and San Francisco, reflective art activities such as painting self portraits, and discussions of media created by black, indigenous, and women of color such as stand up poetry, television shows, and movies.

Our members also spend time bonding with Stanford's Latino Fraternity--the Iota Chapter of Gamma Zeta Alpha Fraternity, Inc., one of Stanford's Black Sororities--the Xi Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and other Lambda chapters in the bay area such as the Alpha Tau Chapter at California State University, East Bay. Additionally, sisters and siblings across the nation meet with one another at our annual Dia de las Rosas conference, which is dedicated to sisterhood, and our National Leadership and Organizational Development Conference, which is dedicated to personal and professional development.
